ACADEMY ART PROGRAMS - YEAR 11
The curriculum aims to boost students’ creative growth and cultivate an analytical as well as conceptual awareness in the context of the contemporary fine art practice. Immersed in a one-of-a-kind studio-based learning environment, students are not only engaged in the practical creative processes, but they are also widely exposed to the theoretical and academic discourse in contemporary art. The conceptual and skill-based learning strategies relevant to the local and global context of contemporary art can certainly help students develop their own visual language in the dynamic society of Hong Kong. During the course, students will build their portfolio and they will be provided with opportunities to showcase and elaborate on their work. Their portfolio serves as solid proof of the skills and knowledge they acquire in the studio, which will prepare them to sit for visual arts exams (IB/IGCSE/BTEC/AP/GCSE) and also give them a headstart on college and university applications.
Students will take on the role of assistant studio teacher in the classroom. Outside the classroom, they can work on their leadership skills through the participation in art events and exhibitions.
